OTP Exchange and Refund Policy

Old Town Playhouse understands that plans change. While we generally have a no-refund policy, we offer many options when you cannot use the tickets or registrations that you have previously purchased. You may:

  1. Exchange to another performance or class/workshop:
    • If to a performance or class/workshop of equal or lesser cost, exchanges are one ticket or registration to one ticket or registration.
    • If to a performance or class/workshop of greater cost, exchanges are applied as payment credit and you pay any difference.
  2. Hold tickets (not registrations) until you decide what to do. We will remind you via email that you have tickets on hold at least one week before each subsequent new show opens during the season. You must use held tickets before the end of the season (seasons run July 1 to June 30). If held tickets remain after the last performance of the season, they will be automatically Donated (see below).
  3. Donate the full amount paid as a cash donation to Old Town Playhouse, tax deductible as allowed by law.
  4. Convert the full amount paid to a Gift Voucher that can be used same as cash for any ticket or registration purchase at OTP within 5 years of the conversion.
  5. Demand a refund. We would rather not process refunds as they are expensive for OTP. Should you demand a refund, we must withhold part of the original payment to cover processing fees on this schedule:
    • 14 or more days before the performance or class/workshop: 95% refund (5% retained for processing).
    • Less than 14 days before the performance or class/workshop: 85% refund (15% retained for processing).

Note that Young Company has a slightly different Refund Policy for camps/classes/productions, see the Young Company Refund Policy here.

If OTP cancels a performance or class/workshop due to weather, illness, or other unexpected circumstances, then you may Exchange, Hold, Donate, or Convert as usual, but in addition you may request a full refund of the price paid.
