Old Town Playhouse 2022-2023 Director Application

Thank you for your interest in directing a show for the OTP 2021-22 season. 
 
APPLICATION DUE APRIL 28, 2022
INTERVIEWS WILL BE HELD: Tuesday,  MAY 3, 2022
 
Upon receipt of your form, you will be contacted to confirm your interview time. 
 
If you are interested in being considered for multiple shows, please fill out one application for each show that you are interested in directing. 
 
As a reminder, directors are not required to have a team to apply! Our volunteer committee would be happy to help find a team for any selected directors. For your knowledge, there is a recommended 8 week rehearsal period for productions, please plan accordingly.
 
Final selection of all Directors will be announced as soon as possible after final interviews. 
A meeting for all Directors and their Producers is planned for the summer.

Director Interview Outline


Thank you for your interest in directing a show at the Old Town Playhouse for the 2021-22 season. As a reminder, interviews with the Artistic Committee are only 20 minutes long.

 During this time, we do not expect any props or visual aids, but they are welcome. We are simply looking for a presentation on your passion, vision, and connection to the show(s) that you applied for. Below is a brief outline of what to expect during your 20 minute interview. 


Five to ten minute introduction of yourself. Please try and include the following:

  • What is your vision for the show? 

(Vision includes your set, lighting, costumes, time period, sound design, new angles you might take, etc.)

  • What is your personal connection to the show? 
  • What is the experience you have directing and, if you don’t have experience, what would you like to learn from this experience and how do you plan on running this show? 

There will be follow up questions based off of this introduction.
