Thank you for your interest in directing a show for the March Studio Slot. 
Upon review of your form, you will be contacted to confirm an interview time. 
As a reminder, directors are not required to have a team to apply! Our Artistic committee would be happy to help find a team for any selected directors. For your knowledge, there is a recommended 8 week rehearsal period for productions, please plan accordingly.
A Director and Show will be announced as soon as possible after final Decisions.

Director Interview Outline

Thank you for your interest in directing a show at the Old Town Playhouse for the 2021-22 season. As a reminder, interviews with the Artistic Committee are only 20 minutes long.

 During this time, we do not expect any props or visual aids, but they are welcome. We are simply looking for a presentation on your passion, vision, and connection to the show(s) that you applied for. Below is a brief outline of what to expect during your 20 minute interview. 

Five to ten minute introduction of yourself. Please try and include the following:

  • What is your vision for the show? 

(Vision includes your set, lighting, costumes, time period, sound design, new angles you might take, etc.)

  • What is your personal connection to the show? 
  • What is the experience you have directing and, if you don’t have experience, what would you like to learn from this experience and how do you plan on running this show? 

There will be follow up questions based off of this introduction.
